Vaibhav Suryavanshi Draws Praise from Kangana Ranaut and Sourav Ganguly After Historic India Call-Up

Young Cricket Sensation Receives Support as He Prepares for International Cricket

Teenage batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to attract attention from across the cricketing world following his selection in the Indian national team. The 15-year-old, who has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in Indian cricket, has now received praise from actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut as well as former India captain Sourav Ganguly.

Suryavanshi’s rapid rise has been one of the biggest stories of the season. After dominating in the IPL and breaking several age-related records, the youngster is now preparing for the biggest challenge of his career-representing India on the international stage.

Kangana Ranaut Extends Her Wishes

Speaking about the young batter, Kangana Ranaut expressed admiration for his achievements and wished him success in the future. While admitting that she does not regularly follow cricket, the actress said she hopes the teenager can achieve the same level of success as Indian legends such as Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.

She also jokingly added that while there should be no unnecessary pressure on him, Indian fans would certainly love to see him help bring another World Cup trophy home.

Her comments reflect the growing excitement surrounding Suryavanshi, whose performances have made him a household name despite his young age.

Sourav Ganguly Urges Patience

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly, however, believes the cricketing community should allow the youngster to develop naturally without placing excessive expectations on his shoulders.

According to Ganguly, Suryavanshi is still only 15 years old and has already shown remarkable maturity in handling pressure situations. He pointed out that the youngster’s performances in the IPL demonstrated an ability to remain composed despite intense scrutiny and high expectations.

Ganguly stressed that talent alone is not enough at the international level and that young players need time to adapt and grow.

International Cricket Will Bring New Challenges

While praising the teenager’s ability, Ganguly noted that playing for India presents a completely different challenge compared to franchise cricket.

He explained that upcoming tours, particularly in overseas conditions, will test Suryavanshi in new ways. Pitches are likely to offer greater bounce and movement, while fast bowlers with the new ball can create difficulties that young batters may not have faced consistently before.

Ganguly emphasized that Suryavanshi possesses immense talent but will need patience and guidance as he adjusts to international cricket. His advice was simple: give the youngster time and allow him to learn from the experience.

Youngest Player Selected for India

The Bihar-born batter has already created history by becoming the youngest cricketer ever selected for the Indian men’s team.

His selection surpassed a long-standing record previously held by Indian batting icon Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar was selected for India at the age of 16 years and 194 days, while Suryavanshi earned his place in the national setup at just 15 years and 71 days.

The youngster has been included in India’s plans for the upcoming T20 assignments against Ireland and England during June and July, while he has also been named in the squad for the Asian Games scheduled later this year.

His selection comes after a remarkable IPL campaign that established him as one of the brightest prospects in world cricket.

Record-Breaking IPL Season

Suryavanshi enjoyed a dream IPL season, collecting multiple individual honors and finishing as one of the tournament’s standout performers.

The teenager walked away with five major awards, including the prestigious Orange Cap for scoring the most runs in the tournament. He was also named Emerging Player of the Season, Most Valuable Player, Super Striker of the Season, and the player with the most sixes.

These achievements earned him substantial prize money and further highlighted the impact he made throughout the competition.

Youngest Orange Cap Winner in IPL History

One of the most significant milestones of Suryavanshi‘s season was becoming the youngest player ever to win the Orange Cap.

At just 15 years and 65 days old, he topped the tournament’s run-scoring charts with an impressive 776 runs from 16 matches. His campaign included one century and five half-centuries, underlining his consistency and ability to perform under pressure.

In achieving the feat, he surpassed the previous record for the youngest Orange Cap winner and further strengthened his reputation as one of India’s most promising young cricketers.

As Vaibhav Suryavanshi prepares for his first experience of international cricket, expectations will naturally be high. However, the message from many former players and experts remains clear: his talent is undeniable, but his development should be allowed to unfold at its own pace. For Indian cricket, the emergence of such a young and gifted player offers excitement not just for the present, but for many years to come.
