The result marks KKR’s first win of the season after struggling through their opening six matches, and it could prove to be a turning point in their campaign.

After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag opted to bat first. However, his decision did not fully pay off as Rajasthan managed to post a modest total of 155/9 in their 20 overs. The innings saw Vaibhav Suryavanshi emerge as the top scorer with 46 runs, while Yashasvi Jaiswal added a steady 39 runs to the scoreboard.

KKR’s bowling unit delivered an impressive performance to restrict Rajasthan. Varun Chakravarthy and Kartik Tyagi were the standout performers, picking up three wickets each. Veteran all-rounder Sunil Narine also made a key impact with two wickets, ensuring Rajasthan never gained full momentum.

Chasing 156, Kolkata had a disastrous start. Both openers were dismissed early with just five runs on the board, and the situation worsened when Cameron Green fell with the team at 37. The pressure mounted further as KKR slipped to 85/6, leaving them in a difficult position.

Just when the game seemed to be slipping away, Rinku Singh and Anukul Roy turned the match around with a remarkable partnership. The duo added an unbeaten 76 runs for the seventh wicket in just 37 balls, guiding KKR to victory. Rinku played a match-winning knock of 53 runs, while Roy supported brilliantly with an unbeaten 29.

For Rajasthan, Ravindra Jadeja claimed two wickets, while Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Yash Raj Punja, and Ravi Bishnoi picked up one wicket each.

This thrilling win gives KKR a much-needed boost in the tournament, while Rajasthan Royals will look to bounce back stronger in their upcoming matches.
